Adani Green Energy’s Net Profit Rises 28% to ₹644 Crore in Q2, Driven by Renewable Growth

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has announced a 28% year-on-year jump in its consolidated net profit to ₹644 crore for the second quarter of FY26, fueled by robust growth in its renewable power business. The company had recorded a profit of ₹515 crore in the same period last year.

Revenue and Sales Performance

AGEL’s revenue from power supply rose significantly to ₹2,776 crore, up from ₹2,308 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
However, the company’s total income slightly dipped to ₹3,249 crore compared to ₹3,396 crore in Q2 FY25, while total expenses stood at ₹2,874 crore versus ₹2,857 crore in the previous year.

Energy sales saw a strong 39% year-on-year increase, reaching 19,569 million units, up from 14,128 million units a year ago. The growth was driven by higher generation from hybrid, wind, and solar power projects across India.

Operational Expansion

As of September 30, Adani Green Energy’s operational capacity expanded 49% to 16.7 GW, reinforcing its position as India’s largest renewable energy company. The firm remains on track to achieve its 50 GW target, with a major push coming from its 30 GW renewable energy project in Khavda, Gujarat.

In the first half of FY26, AGEL added 2,437 MW of new greenfield capacity, which accounts for 74% of the entire capacity added in FY25. Over the last year, AGEL has added a total of 5,496 MW, including:

  • 4,200 MW of solar capacity (2,900 MW in Khavda, 1,050 MW in Rajasthan, and 250 MW in Andhra Pradesh)

  • 491 MW of wind capacity in Khavda

  • 805 MW of solar-wind hybrid capacity also in Khavda

Strategic Progress and Future Outlook

According to Ashish Khanna, CEO of Adani Green Energy, “We are making steady progress in our largest ongoing development of the 30 GW renewable energy plant at Khavda. Through innovation, digitalization, and advanced renewable technologies, we are enhancing efficiency, safety, and project execution at scale.”

The company’s adoption of robotic solar module installation, localized supply chains, and advanced manpower deployment reflects its focus on sustainable growth and speed of execution. AGEL aims to set a global benchmark by completing the 30 GW Khavda project by 2029.
